Module 4: Vector Analysis

For this module, I was tasked with joining certain attributes between feature classes through the use of overlay tools. It was essential to initially create buffers for features such as roads and different waters. This helped set up a union of the features to eventually narrow down the map to display these buffers unionized. Since there are conservation areas within the Desoto National Forest, I used the union tool to bring together attributes from the conservations areas and buffers union. By doing this, I could select the attributes that I marked as having a field number indicative of being present within conservation areas. I then created a map and chose the possible campsites to symbolize them by their percentage of total area in hectares with a cividis color scheme. This allows a lighter color to indicate lower percentages and darker colors for higher percentages.
